London is a hugely populous city, its population of 8.5 million people is more than the entire state of Oregon, which is 4 million.
However in land mass, Oregon is much larger than the city of London, it is closer in size to the entire size of The United Kingdom, which includes England, Scotland and Ireland.

So, let's wrap this review up with I liked the place (totally charming), the service was decent (no table service), they were accommodating to my milk free weirdness (the allergy menu was very thorough, except type was so small it was almost unreadable), everything was very expensive (The fish and chips was £12.69, so $19.32 US currency, and the pie £11.49/$17.51).

The Anchor - which dates from 1775 - was refurbished in 2008 and now features a fish & chip shop.
The Anchor's association with Samuel Johnson is recalled by Dr Johnson's Tea Room on the corner of Bank End and Bankside.
There is also a coffee shop service hot drinks, bacon rolls and ice creams.
From the huge outside seating area you get a great view of both St Paul's and Tower Bridge.
The Anchor Bankside has an outdoor seating area.

It was from this pub that Samuel Pepys witnessed the awesome destruction of the Great Fire of London in 1666.
He describes the dreadful heat and "fire drops" falling on him whilst in a boat on the river.
and there watched the fire grow".
The pubs original structure has been added-to over several centuries, creating a maze of odd little rooms featuring old brick fire places, waney oak beams and worn, creaking floorboards.
The main dining room has wonderful views across the Thames to the City and a first floor balcony and a riverside terrace offer outdoor seating, which proves incredibly popular in the summer,

The Anchor Bankside is a pub in the London Borough of Southwark.
[2] Michelin's travel guide states that Anchor Bankside was rebuilt in 1676 after the Great Fire of London in 1666 destroyed it.
[5] The establishment has been described as "Bankside's oldest surviving tavern" in the book Secret Bankside: Walks in the Outlaw Borough.
The Anchor tavern became a favourite place for river pirates and smugglers: during the course of repairs carried out in the early 19th century the removal of a massive oak beam revealed ingeniously contrived hiding places which were probably used for the storage of stolen goods and contraband.
In June 2008, Anchor Bankside underwent one of the most costly refurbishments in pub history – reported to be £2.6 million[citation needed] – funded by its then owners Punch Taverns.

location
The Anchor Bankside is found in one of the busiest areas of the city, and the venue’s large drinking terrace makes it a very popular meet-up point for punters in SE1.
The pub allegedly dates all the way back to 1665, and the grand old building fits the area’s post-industrial aesthetic nicely.
There are plenty of Greene King ales and bottled beers on offer, although the comprehensive selections of whisky, vodka, rum and gin is where the bar really excels.
Foodwise, the menu is stocked with solid pub-grub choices and the pie and a pint offer is a good options for hungry punters after work.
The Anchor gets very busy on a pretty regular basis, but if you’re after a bustling pub in the area, then the Anchor will always be a good option.
